After a lovely Xmas Day at Murray and Marama's (Ange's folks) place in St Heliers, we piled into Turner (our trusty Toyota Corolla) at 9.30am and headed for New Plymouth.
Lunch was scheduled for a restaurant we had visited before called "The Thirsty Weta". They do a $20 seafood platter that's worth every cent! Unfortunately we arrived in Otorohanga to find the place closed so we had to settle on a bland vegetarian meal from a cafe. Oh well.......
Before hitting New Plymouth we stopped briefly and bought some beer from White Cliffs Organic Brewery. Very nice......
We camped for the two nights at Egmont Eco Leisure Park which I can highly recommend.
